Strip 24: Three Count

I briefly considered making a faceless helmet the standard issue for the Blacknet pirate uniform, as is standard for antagonistic goons, but I wanted the freedom to conceptualize a bunch of different humanesque and alien races, and I wanted to emphasize that these pirates are individuals, patched together across the disorganized frontier of the Starnet. Many of these individuals come from an area of space known as the Kaballah Sector, which we’ll expand on later, but for now, I can say that the worlds and inhabitants of the K Sector are based on the Ars Goetia, so many of their genetic modifications cause them to resemble classical demons. Today’s specimen is a Balahim, after the demon king Balam, who has the head of a bull (as well as a couple other heads, but who’s counting?) and rides a bear for...some reason. I’ll be identifying more K Sector humanesques as we go along.
