A side point that could probably use some clarification here is that, as noted before, the oxygen on Cykta is extremely thin due to the death of the planet’s biosphere. The reason why Kakari is struggling to breathe but the others are not comes down to genetic modifications. It’s common for spacefarers - pirates, mercenaries, merchants, and the like - to have extremely efficient lungs, in order to get more mileage out of their oxygen supply, as well as survive oxygen leaks, if necessary. Kakari is clearly none of the above, so she is lacking most of the gene mods that are keeping her compatriots fit and strong.
