Strip 54: All Channels

We'll learn more about "bone casting" in Part IV, but this is just one of the hints of the larger superstitions and cultural aspects that govern a large part of the post-Federation galaxy. There's been mention of the significance of bones since the first strip of Part II, and by this point hopefully a picture is starting to emerge of a culture that values prophecy, ritual, the body, and heritage, sometimes tying all of these things together at the same time.
