Strip 6: A Merry Chase

We’re finally reintroduced here to the other two organics first teased in Strip 1 of Part II, Jack Mackenzie and Kakari Mandal. Mackenzie’s design is partly inspired by Johnny Depp’s character from the movie Dead Man (which is awesome and you should definitely see it if you like the idea of a slow burn, surreal anti-Western). Kakari is a Cyktan, as mentioned in her first appearance, but her clothes and hairstyle are deliberately more exotic and less conservative than what we’ve seen so far on Cyktans of the past, like Treya Malik or Palak. This is an early example of how drastically the Cyktans’ position in society has fallen since the Robot Revolution. I wonder why...
